Duke Jazz Program Goes To Aspen

The Aspen Jazz Ensemble

Paul Jeffrey, Director

-----

The Aspen Jazz Program is a unique combination of performance experience and study opportunity for the aspiring young professional or advanced instrumental student interested in furthering his/her development in the jazz idiom. Each year the Jazz Program offers a wide array of performances and workshops by a variety of distinguished guest artists, in conjuction with performances by the Aspen Jazz Ensemble. The Aspen Jazz Ensemble is a full seventeen piece band comprised of scholarship and fellowship recipients. Fellowships are available for key positions in the Jazz Ensemble. All students interested in participating in the Aspen Jazz Ensemble must submit a resume and cassette tape containing no more than three contrasting selections which demonstrate their playing abilities. The tape should be edited to facilitate review and should include at least one "blues" or "standard."
