| Adaptor proteins are a group of proteins that do not have transcriptional activation domains or enzymatic activity (excluding receptor proteins). Most adaptor proteins contain well-defined structural domains that mediate protein-protein interaction while others contain tyrosine residues and can bind SH2 domain-containing proteins upon phosphorylation. | ||||
