1. PPS 146 Class Mission Statement
Stage I: Look inside and define a strong sense of self and personal values
Defining our values through introspection to uncover our personal strengths, motivations, and passions.
Stage II: Shift focus from internal to external, observe our surroundings in a new light, and expand our sphere of influence
Using self-awareness as a tool to reassess our external influence
Stage III: Act on our passions (and remain centered)
Committing our energy and strengths to maximizing the potential of our situations
While the transitions between the stages are not always clear, each contributes to the development of a leader.
We build our leadership from within and base it on what is truly important to us (not to society, our parents, our friends, etc.)
We can influence and be part of more than we thought possible.
This is not a finite, sequential process. We will jump back and forth between stages throughout our lives as we face new situations, recognizing that a leader is someone who never stops striving to be just that.
PPS 146 has been as example of experiencing the three stages of leadership development.
