Wheat Futures (KCBT)

This wheat futures contract is sold by the Kansas City Board of Trade (KCBT) in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Each contract represents 5,000 bushels of hard red winter wheat delivered only in Kansas City in March, May, July, September, and December. The contract is for wheat graded No.2 according to government standards. Hard red winter wheat, grown primarily in the Great Plains, accounts for about 50 percent of U.S. wheat production and nearly half of total U.S. wheat exports. Hard red winter wheat has made up the bulk of wheat purchases by Russia in recent years.
