Allegheny Blackberry (Rubus allegheniensis) flowers

Allegheny Blackberry is common in the Mountains of North Carolina. It is distinguished from our other blackberries by the gland-tipped hairs covering the inflorescence branches. The young primocanes (first-year, non-flowering canes) and floricanes (second-year, flowering canes) may also have gland-tipped hairs.
