A common grape throughout North Carolina, recognized by the whitish undersurface of the leaves. Silverleaf Grape (Vitis aestivalis var. bicolor) also has silvered leaf undersurfaces, but the leaves are glabrous (smooth) beneath, while those of Summer Grape are pubescent (hairy).
