Severe Aortic insufficiency This is a great example of severe AI. There is a large turbulent flow jet coursing back into the LV during diastole. On the en face view of the aortic valve you can actually see where the valve is failing to coapt. In the VRT of the aorta you can see the root is mildly aneurysmal but the rest of the aorta is normal. Funcitonal cine imaging that demonstrates the severe AI as well as the failure of the aortic valve to coapt. axial HASTES demonstrate the saline filled catheter as a hyperintense dot in the SVC
