This is the scene of the DSB removal. The area was covered with 6mil landscaping cloth. The 4' kiddie pool held most of the LR and water. The 55g tank held the rest of the LR and a fair amount of water. The 10g held all of the livestock. All of the corals and clams were held in the 45g sump behind the 125g. They never knew anything was different. Their water was constant the whole time. I left the corals and clams in there for 24 hours to let the tank settle down after the removal. The green bucket was make-up water. The yellow bucket was used for the mass removal of the DSB. We used a pitcher to get it out of the tank. A shopvac was used for the rest of the DSB that could not be removed easily by the pitcher. All in all it was a 12 hour ordeal. So far I feel it was good idea. It is amazing how much detritus has built up in that year.
