Vol. 1, p. 187, Will of Nicolas Bochet, Berkeley Co., leaves land to son Henry "purchased of Messrs. James Bilbeau and John Pineaux."  Dated 11 Apr 1733, Proved 17 July 1733, Recorded 25 July 1733.  p. 45 in Will Book 1732-1737.

Vol. 2, p. 16-17, James Richard, inhabitant of Purrysburg, Granville County.  "Natural" dau: --- Netteman.  Grandsons:  James Peter Netteman, under age; James Lewis Netteman, under age, lots in Purrysburg; James Andrew Roud, son of my dau. Netteman.  Mentions:  Harriette Godet to have my wife's picture; Catherine Penell, "the mother;" my arms; Madam Mary Grenier, widow; Mr. Peter ---; debts I owe in Purrysburgh; Madame Grenier to live in heriditary estate of --- Netteman.  Exor:  Mr. Daniel Godet.  Wit:  Abraham Mueron, James Stephen Roud, John Beuche.  Dated 29 march 1743 at Purysburgh. Proved 9 Sept. 1743.  Recorded 9 Sept. 1743. p. 114 in 1740-1747 book.

Vol. 2, p. 154.  Will of William Bellinger, St. Bartholomew's Parish, Colleton Co., mentions "land bought of inhabitants of Purrysburgh from ... Abel Pennell, ..." and others.  Dated 20 Mar. 1739/40.  Proved 27 July 1752.  Recorded:  n.d.  p. 7 in 1752-1756 book.

Vol. 3, p. 185.  Will of Moses Yarborough - Will Book SS, 1774-1774, p. 280.  Proved 1772. Get a copy!

Vol. 3, p. 236, James Dandridge Yarborough is executor and witness to will of Samuel Ball of St. Andrew's Parish, Colleton Co., Dated 22 April 1775.  Will Book TT, p. 264.

Vol. 3, p. 323, Will of James Armstrong, Camden District.  Mentions daughter Ann Yarborough and her son James Armstrong Yarborough.  Will Yoborough is a witness.  Dated 13 Nov. 1780, Proved 30 March 1871.  Will Book WW, p. 149.

These are typed transcriptions of wills, done by the WPA.  This is a state-wide index, but wills for the following counties were destroyed in 1865 or shortly thereafter:  Beaufort, Chesterfield, Colleton, Georgetown, Lancaster, Lexington, Orangeburg

Recorded 4 Oct 1797 (yes, I know that doesn't make sense - I noted that the dates were unlikely when I read the transcription)

Vol 1, Bk. A, p. 109-111
Robert Wallace:  "to Polly Ponnell only daughter of Tabitha Pinnell, two Negroes known by the names of young Sambo and Myry ____ with their increase to her and her lawfull heirs begotten of her own body forever.  But in case she should die without such lawfull issue as aforesaid then the said Sambo and Myry and their increase shall be equally divided between my three children William, Martha and Elizabeth or their heirs.  Also I give unto said Polly Pinnell as her right and property without any restrictions a good feather bed - and furniture also Ten pounds Sterling in Cash, the Cash to be put out at Interest or used for the benefit of the said Polly Pinnell at the Discretion of her Mother Tabitha Pinnell."

[He was evidently well off:  leaves lands in various places and 20 other Negroes.  Polly Pinnell is his illegitimate daughter - see bastardy bond, elsewhere.]

SC Will Transcripts, Pickens Co.
Vol. 1, Bk. 1, p. 281
Burrell Perritt.  "to my wife, the tract of land I now live upon known as the Isaac Murphree tract, also the tract adjoining that I bought of the Wm. Murphree estate."  Also 5 slaves Landers, Agness, Berry, Anderson, Caroline, and all the farm & household goods, "during her life of widowhood, then to my son John or his children."  Mentions son-in-law J.B. Wright.  Neighbor and friend Green Fields to be executor.  24 April 1858.  Witness:  Wm. Hunter, C.C. Forther, T.H. Porter
[It would be worth checking the original will or the recorded copy to see if this could really be Burrell Pinnell.]
