Challenge 3 - Visualizing Cyberspace

Peruse Dodge's book on cyberspace:

• Pick one visualization from THAT ATLAS OF CYBERSPACE that you find particularly interesting.

Prepare a critique of the pair:

• The Dodge images explore some of the best of current dynamic mappings of the Internet.
• What are the representations designed to show and hide?
• What preceeded them? What may likely follow them?
• What do they do well? What do they do poorly?
• How can they be made better with the technology of computation?
• Are there any examples on the Web that will illustrate your critique?

Present your critique in class:

• Capture the images for presentation (digitize them).
• Use PowerPoint or DreamWeaver for your presentation.
• If you need help, contact your instructor, TA and/or CLICC staff.

Turn in your presentation on floppy, ZIP or CD-ROM.
