I had a very pleasant conversation with Pierre Giguère about the variety of museum display cases available to the profession.
It was his opinion that Zone top quality museum cases for our exhibit which met professional curatorial standards would cost in excess of $100,000.
He suggested that we start small with modular cases, and let the exhibit grow as the funds available to us grow.
To spend below that dollar figure would require substantial research and labor on our part.
Zone has sold top quality museum display cases to the California Academy of Sciences as well as to the NASA.
The photographs below are from a geological exhibit prepared by Zone.
Their cases are sealed, positive pressure air tight enclosures with conservation quality environmental control.
Their "off-the-shelf standard" case (see the .pdf brochure) retails at from $6k to $8k depending upon they type of glass (regular or low-iron), lighting, shelving and security.
With regards to nitrogen filled display cases there is one at the Getty (cost of circa $100,000) and several are in consideration in Honolulu.
Clearly, nitrogen filled cases are beyond our present budget. Nevertheless, it is important to be aware of current display technologies.

Hello Nicholas, I have looked at all your documents and I must say all very interesting, but we are in the design and fabrication of conservation grade display cases, all glass, simply no acrylic at all.
Your suggestion of Nitrogen filled acrylic cases for some meteorites is hard to foresee, in large enclosures, anyway.
Same for the vacuum ideas.
With regards to the extrusions shown in your web site, we are definitely not in that type of work, I also wonder how would you seal these, or how you would seal an opening/access mechanism ?
Type of display cases we design and build are in the 10-20K each! Your 30 x 30 exhibit room if equipped as shown on your drawings, with the type of display cases we are designing and manufacturing, would reach easily over 100K.
I would think you have to see exhibit builders in your area, using your aluminum profiles and acrylic panels to build these display cases.
I would suggest the people at Cinnabar.
Regards
Pierre Giguère
