The catacombs are deep underground, below the
metro tunnels at Place Denfert-Rochereau.
After going down an endless spiral stairway in stone, you come to a
doorway
that says:

They are not kidding!

On July 25 we saw the finish of the Tour de
France bicycle race.
The riders went 10 times around a loop from
the Tuileries to the Champs Elysees.
This is the 1-kilometer-to-go mark, and that's
Lance Armstrong in the yellow jersey.
