![]() | The appropriately named Fanleaf Hawthorn is fairly common in the Mountains and Piedmont of North Carolina, and is occasionally found in the Coastal Plain. Fanleaf Hawthorn is very similar to Crataegus macrosperma (Bigfruit Hawthorn) and Crataegus intricata (Entangled Hawthorn), if not the same species. The taxonomy of hawthorns is still a mess.
