Using Duke's WWW Server

Duke University provides a public WWW server for the use of anyone who has an account on the Duke public computer (acpub) cluster machines. As students at Fuqua, you have such an account. This link describes how to set up a WWW server directory on your Duke account.

Software and GIF Format Images

Here you will find links to software for home use, such as HTML Assistant and LviewPro. There are also links to various gif image libraries of images useful in constructing HTML documents. There is even a link to PKUNZIP in case you do not have a copy of that utility.

Newsgroups of Interest

As you might expect, there are several newsgroups (bulletin boards) where WWW-related discussions take place. Some of these are quite technical and contain discussions more suitable for "system administrators". Others are more suitable for beginners, and still others simply announce new WWW sites. You may want to cruise through some of these to get a feel for them and see if you want to read them regularly. They are available using your Win-VN software. They are available on the Duke News Server.
