Driving Directions to Duke Chapel Quad
(parking for Friday reception)
From Greensboro and Points West
- Via 1-85 North: Exit onto N.C. 147 (Durham Freeway).
- Take first exit off Durham Freeway onto 15-501 S. toward Chapel Hill.
- Stay in right lane, and take second exit (#107), marked Duke Univ. West Campus, to N.C. 751.
- Turn LEFT onto N.C. 751 S., and go under the freeway.
- At fourth traffic light (Duke University Rd.) take a left. Continue past Wannamaker Dr., Towerview Rd. and Edens Dr. (not marked) to Chapel Dr.
- Turn left onto Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars. Continue to traffic circle and take circle around to where Chapel Dr. continues. The West campus quad is straight ahead.
From Richmond and Points North
- Via I-85 South: In Durham, take the left-lane exit (#174B) for US 15-501 South Bypass - Duke University/Chapel Hill.
- Continue on U.S. 15-501 to the fourth exit (#107), marked Duke Univ. West Campus, a right-lane exit for N.C. 751.
- Turn LEFT onto N.C. 751 S., go under the freeway.
- At fourth traffic light (Duke University Rd.) take a left. Continue past Wannamaker Dr., Towerview Rd. and Edens Dr. (not marked) to Chapel Dr.
- Turn left onto Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars. Continue to traffic circle and take circle around to where Chapel Dr. continues. The West campus quad is straight ahead.
From RDU Airport, Raleigh and Points East
- Via I-40 West: Exit onto the Durham Freeway (N.C. 147). Take Durham Freeway to Chapel Hill St. exit (#13).
- Take right on Chapel Hill St. Continue straight on Chapel Hill St. until it turns into Duke University Rd. Cross Anderson St. to Chapel Dr.
- Turn right on Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars. Continue to traffic circle and take circle around to where Chapel Dr. continues. The West campus quad is straight ahead.
From Chapel Hill
- Via US. 15-501 North. Take 15-501 North, marked Duke Univ./Med Ctr. Do not take 15-501 Business.
- Take exit for N.C. 751 (#107) marked Duke University West Campus.
- Turn right onto N.C. 751 S.(Cameron Blvd.).
- At third traffic light (Duke University Rd.) take a left. Continue past Wannamaker Dr., Towerview Rd. and Edens Dr. (not marked) to Chapel Dr. Turn left on Chapel Dr. at large stone pillars. Continue to traffic circle and take circle around to where Chapel Dr. continues. The West campus quad is straight ahead.
Driving Directions to Sanford Hall
(site for all Saturday sessions)
From the East (I-95, Raleigh, RDU Airport via I-40 West)
- If you are traveling on I-95, take I-40 West through Raleigh.
- Continue on I-40 West toward Research Triangle Park.
- Go north on Durham Freeway (Hwy 147).
- Exit on Chapel Hill St. (2nd exit after Durham Bulls Athletic Park).
- Turn right onto Chapel Hill St.
- Go straight as street changes name to Duke University Rd.
- Turn right on Towerview Rd. (2nd right after Chapel Dr.).
- Go through traffic circle and continue on Towerview to Science Dr.
- The Sanford Institute is on your left.
From the West and Southwest (Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro via I-40 East and I-85 North)
- Take I-85 North when I-40 and I-85 fork.
- Exit on Hwy 751 (It will say "To Duke University").
- Turn right onto Hwy 751 (Cameron Blvd.).
- Stay on 751 through a traffic circle, after which you will pass under 15-501 and cross Erwin Rd. (1st traffic light).
- Turn left on Science Dr. (2nd traffic light).
- The Sanford Institute is on your right at the first intersection (Towerview Rd.).
From the North (DC, Richmond via I-85 South)
- Take I-85 South into Durham.
- Exit (on the right) onto 15-501 South.
- Exit on Hwy 751 (Cameron Blvd.).
- Turn left onto Science Dr. (2nd traffic light).
- The Sanford Institute is on your right at the first intersection (Towerview Rd.).
From the South (Chapel Hill ) via 15-501
- North on US 15-501 toward Durham.
- Take the 15-501 bypass (not Business 15-501, and not Martin Luther King Parkway).
- Exit on Hwy 751 (Cameron Blvd.), turn right.
- Turn left on Science Dr.
- The Sanford Institute is on your right at the first intersection (Towerview Rd.)
