Changing Coastal Communities
Funded by North Carolina Sea Grant, 2008-2010
The purpose of this research is: 1) to collect data relevant to describing and understanding land use change 'Down East' (Carteret County) and the human, environmental, and institutional context of related conflict; 2) to make these data accessible to all stakeholders, and to use research results to facilitate dialogue about the area's future, and; 3) by replicating methods used by Cumming and Norwood in western NC, to test their wider applicability for facilitating discussion of land use change. The project builds on my interests in community experiences with and responses to development and conservation.
A seperate project website is currently being developed.
