Monotremes Below are thumbnails of unpublished photographs of monotreme embryos in the JP Hill collection. Clicking on the image will lead to a larger version of this image and descriptions of the material (not all links are complete -- site under construction). For higher resolution copies contact KK Smith. Most of these specimens were collected by Thomas Flynn. The first number (MOF) is the number in the catalogue of the Hubrecht collection (now Berlin Museum); the Echidna XX is Hill's (or Flynn's) catalogue number. Hill was inconsistent in the manner in which he catalogued his specimens, however the majority of these appear to be catalogued by the date of collection (e.g., August, 15, 1929). These photographs were made by Hill in 1943. |
